The End of January and a Market with a Bang

Find out what is going on at the Kensington Farmers' Market this Sunday.

February Here We Come

The last weekend in January, it is hard to believe. This Sunday's Farmers' Market is going to have some bang! Clangin' and Bangin' that is - our featured musical talent this week. Come soak in the positive vibes of blues, honky-tonk, and boogie music. Clangin' & Bangin's musical influences include Chicago-style from the 20s and 30s, New Orleans traditional jazz, and the honky-tonks down in Texas.

Also, featured at the Market is Big Paw Olive Oils. The family-owned business was inspired by a hike in the California highlands. Today, Big Paw Olive Oil's philosophy is based on producing small lots of the highest quality possible.

Taste Delights

As with fine wines, Big Paw differentiates the particular characteristics of a flavoring not just by the olive or herb alone, but where it has grown. Their 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oils are first, cold pressed from such pedigreed California olives many of which are California Olive Oil Counsel certified. Visit Malcolm at Big Paw and see their rich variety of products including: olive oils; dippers, dressings, marinades, rubs, syrups, olives and vinegars. Your taste buds will dance with delight.

Health Benefits

According to the Mayo Clinic, the main type of fat found in all kinds of olive oil is monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs). MUFAs are actually considered a healthy dietary fat.  They may help lower your risk of heart disease. For instance, MUFAs may lower your total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. MUFAs may also help normalize blood clotting. But even healthier fats like olive oil are high in calories, so use them only in moderation.

See you there!
