FREE Holiday Light Swap at Berkeley Farmer's Market Holiday Craft Fair

Do you have a tall halogen floor lamp in your home? These lamps waste electricity and are dangerous: they can overheat and become fire hazards. California Youth Energy Services (CYES), a program of the nonprofit organization Rising Sun Energy Center, will team up with theFire Ecology Center to exchange your old halogen lamp for a new fluorescent version, of the same quality and brightness, at no charge! OnSaturday, December 3, Rising Sun will host a halogen floor lamp swap from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please visit the Berkeley Farmer’s Market Holiday Crafts Fair at Civic Park in Berkeley to receive a brand new, 55-watt fluorescent floor lamp with each exchange. All lamps must have a 300-watt or greater halogen bulb to qualify for the exchange. You must be a Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and bring a copy of your bill to participate. We are also offering our HOLIDAY SPECIAL. Bring in your old incandescent holiday lights, and we will swap them for brand new, energy-efficient LED holiday lights. All at no charge! In addition, we will recycle all incandescent strings of lights and halogen lamps.
