League of Women Voters Conversation: Current Trends in Berkeley Schools, and Public Schools Fund Impact on Programs

The Conversation with the League of Women Voters Berkeley Albany Emeryville on June 17 will feature Erin Rhoades, Executive Director of the Berkeley Public Schools Fund, discussing with Josh Daniels, President of the Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) School Board the role that the Fund plays in enhancing offerings at the Berkeley schools, as well as what the current trends are in the BUSD schools.

The Berkeley Public Schools Fund, formerly known as the Berkeley Public Education Foundation, has been distributing classroom and district-wide program grants to the Berkeley schools since 1984.  In the 30 years since its founding, the Fund has directed more than $12 million and 750,000 volunteer hours to the Berkeley schools.  Erin Rhoades and School Board President Josh Daniels will discuss the impact of the Fund's support, and also other questions of current interest having to do with the public schools.
