Friday Night Jazz - Nick Demopoulous Smomid

Musician Nick
Demopoulos,  the guitar player in
NEA Jazz Master Chico Hamilton's ensemble from 2008 to 2013 and recorded with
Mr. Hamilton on his albums "Revelation," "Euphoric," and
"The Inquiring Mind."  He also leads his own group called
"Exegesis" which is a mixture of jazz and electronic music in New
York City. Nick will be performing on the Smomid (String Modeling Midi Device)
an instrument he designed and built as a way for a guitar player to interface
with a computer. This instrument allows Nick to control beats, harmonies,
manipulate audio samples, play melodies and program high powered LEDs to
interact with his compositions. Friday Night Jazz with the Smomid is not to be
missed.
