Snow? In Berkeley?

Take a snow day in the Gourmet Ghetto!  Bring your boots and mittens to play in the snow that is predicted to gently fall in the parking lot at 1673 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley on Sunday, December 2, 10AM-3PM. (Rain date is Dec. 9.)

Visit with the Snow Queen who will listen to all of your holiday wishes, ride the decorated live ponies, make holiday crafts like greeting cards and dreidels, and warm up with hot cider and chewy cookies courtesy of Andronico’s.  Find one-of-a-kind holiday gifts from local craft vendors. This is a free event for children of all ages sponsored by the North Shattuck Association in conjunction with Art Kapoor Realty, Thornwall Properties and the East Bay Express.

Then find the ‘ice’ in a snowball - one has a real diamond ring inside - at M. Lowe & Co., 1519 Shattuck, 1-4PM, as a benefit for Walden and Berkeley Arts Magnet Schools.

The Gourmet Ghetto is just 6 blocks north of the Downtown Berkeley BART station and has festive lights in over 50 trees.
