For 21 months neighbors and friends of the Northbrae Community have continued to voluntarily support the domestic "in-need" animals (dogs, cats) of the families seeking help through the Food Bank at Rodeo, California. The recipients aided by this community's generosity are low-income families, the elderly, and the handicapped who keep their pets during extremely difficult financial times. These families are helping us all by keeping the feral population down in the east bay. They give their pets a loving home.
Each month neighbors and friends drop-off dog/cat food, canned and/or kibble, leashes, gentle leaders, brushes, toys, beds, combs, nail clippers, medicines, gifts-in-kind, and the list goes on. During all 21 months, this neighborhood has served 150 to 175 families with domestic animal needs with items they didn't need or by their sheer generosity to those less fortunate.
If you have such items and are so inclined, please deposit them into the large, black can in front of 1655 Hopkins Street, Berkeley, CA 94707(see map). For larger items, please place adjacent to the can. We pick up each evening and store in the garage. Deliveries are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. For February 2013, the last drop-off day is Monday, Feb 11th by 8pm. Thank you so very much for your generosity and support. 100% of all donations go to these families...a zero cost program, run by YOU!
2nd Anniversary event: Cookie-a-thon in May 2013. Watch for follow-up info:) Be well, Joanie
