Community Corner

Disability Rights Advocates' 20th Anniversary Gala

DRA will

welcome 400 supporters from the legal and disability rights community to the

Palace Hotel in San Francisco to celebrate their positive impact. The evening’s

program will include a conversation with Chief Justice of California, Tani

Cantil-Sakauye, and US District Court Justice Thelton Henderson.

Proceeds from

the 20th Anniversary Gala will support a Wolinsky Fellowship Fund in honor of

DRA co-founder Sid Wolinsky. The fellowship will give preference to lawyers

with disabilities. Wolinsky fellows will be trained by Sid and other

outstanding DRA lawyers to become a part of the next generation of leading

public interest litigators in public interest and disability law.

DRA is one of

the leading non-profit disability rights legal centers in the nation. Its

landmark lawsuits have set legal precedents and enforced civil rights for

millions of people with a variety of disabilities. DRA seeks to remedy systemic

problems through class action and other high-impact litigation across the country.
