Buddhist Studies Course on Longchenpa's "Ngal-gso skor-gsum"

Buddhist Studies Tutorial: Guidance, Protection, and Compassion

March 27-May 29, 2014

Thursdays, 1-2:30 PM

This class explores what it is like to be a student on the path to enlightenment from the perspective of the 14th century teacher Longchenpa. This timeless advice from one of Longchenpa’s major works also covers the meaning of taking refuge and establishing new ways of relating to others. Longchenpa’s teachings guide us through the welter of conflicting ideas and judgments about how we learn.

Cost: $180, which includes the “Taking Refuge as a Way of Life” workshop on May 3. Instructor: Sylvia Gretchen. Based on Kindly Bent to Ease Us, Part One: Mind by Longchenpa, chapters 5-8.

Open to all students with a sincere interest in the Buddha’s teachings.
