Ashby Village Hosts Informational Open House, Discussion of Village Movement that's Helping Seniors Take Charge of Their Lives

The Open House will feature an overview of Ashby Village and the broader "Village Model" that is taking off across the country, plus a discussion about the benefits and costs of membership. Current Ashby Village members and volunteers will share their experiences and explain how the organization has improved their lives, while presenters will allow plenty of time for questions from the the audience.  People from all East Bay neighborhoods are welcome to attend.

Ashby Village plans to kick off yearlong organizing efforts in North Berkeley with this free Open House at the Epworth United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 23, 3:30-5:00 pm.  The church is located at 1953 Hopkins St. in Berkeley.
Light refreshments will be served.

Ashby Village is dedicated to supporting and empowering East Bay residents over 50 to remain independent, active, engaged and inspired as they age. Members form a vibrant and diverse community and participate in cultural, social and educational events and gatherings.  Additionally the Village provides an array of supportive resources including home-based volunteer services, referrals to service providers and opportunites to meet new people and build community.
