Weekend Highlights: Dinosaurs, Chocolate, World Music and Ballet
There's lots to do in Berkeley this weekend, but bring the rain gear.

- Why Go: Explore the dinosaur world like never before in Dinosaurs Unearthed. Scientists, engineers, and artists designed creatures to be as lifelike as possible. The gigantic animals open their jaws, blink their eyes, move their limbs … and more. You walk among roaring, stomping, realistic-looking animatronic dinosaurs
- Price: Adults $17; student/senior/disabled (ages 7–18; 62 plus) $14; children (ages 3-6) $11; children under 3 are free; $4 for members, UC Berkeley students and staff
- Where/When: Shattuck Ave, Berkeley (Gourmet Ghetto); June 4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Why Go: The sidewalks along North Shattuck Ave. in the Gourmet Ghetto in Berkeley are the target of artists young and old, professional and greenhorn during the 15th annual Chocolate & Chalk Art Festival. Vendors with fair-trade chocolate, chocolate-related items, hand made arts & crafts, and pony rides fill the event area and many more surprises fill your senses as you stroll along the sidewalks viewing the artwork that remains in place for the next two weeks.

- Where/When: 2454 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley, (Event Epicenter with various other locations nearby); June 4, noon to 9 p.m.
- Why Go: Some of the Bay Area's finest world music artists offer a dazzling mix of free café and sidewalk performances, plus an afternoon concert in People's Park with Fito Reinoso (Cuban gooves), Riffat Sultana (Sufi), and Druid Sister's Tree Party. On the day of the festival, visitors are encouraged to pick up a schedule and map at the information booth located at Telegraph Ave and Haste. Read more about .

- Where/When: , 101 Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley; June 3 and 4, 8 p.m.
- Why Go: Both past and present will be on display as the dancers perform two programs in Zellerbach Hall. The first features Bournonville's timeless Romantic masterpiece La Sylphide and Flemming Flindt's demonically captivating The Lesson (based on Ionesco's absurdist classic). The second is an ambitious survey of modern Nordic choreography by some of today's most adventurous dance-makers.

- Where/When: Crown Beach, Westline Dr & Otis Dr, Alameda; June 4, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Why Go: Bring your shovel and bucket and get ready to create a unique work of art. Categories include Sand Castle and Sand Sculpture, ages 12 and under, 13 and over and family.
