Video: Crane Camera Provides View of Cal Stadium Retrofit

A video camera suspended on a crane provides a bird's eye view of California Memorial Stadium as it undergoes a seismic retrofit.

UC Berkeley News Center shared the view-from-above video of Cal's Memorial Stadium, showing the seismic retrofit project as of Aug. 8, 2011.

The historic stadium was built in 1923 on top of an active earthquake fault — the Hayward Fault — putting it at risk of being torn apart by a major rupture. The stadium is currently being rebuilt so that parts of it will shift and move along with an earthquake.
