Free Summer Meals for Youth

Summer lunch program begins June 18 for children age 18 or younger.

Children and youth age 18 or younger are invited to eat free in Berkeley. In collaboration with the state Department of Education, the city will offer free summer lunches and snacks at locations across the city between June 18 and August 17.  Dates, times and locations are listed below.

James Kenney Community Center 1720 Eighth St. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Snacks are served from 2 to 3 p.m. 

MLK Jr. Youth Center, 1730 Oregon St. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., snacks from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Frances Albrier Community Center, 2800 Park St. Lunch is served from 12 to 1 p.m., snacks from 3 to 4 p.m.

Harrison Street Skate Park, Fifth and Harrison streets. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., snacks from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Black Repertory Theater Group, 3210 Adeline St. Lunch is served from 12 to 1 p.m., snacks from 3 to 4 p.m.

Berkeley Youth Alternatives, Strawberry Creek, 1255 Allston Way Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., snacks from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Malcolm X Elementary School, 1731 Prince St. Lunch is served from 1:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., snacks from 3 to 4 p.m.

Rosa Parks Elementary School, 920 Allston Way Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., snacks from 3 to 4 p.m.
