At Least 11 Berkeley Residents, Students Reported Safe After Boston Bombings

A list of locals who have been confirmed as safe according to The Daily Californian.

Eleven Berkeley residents and UC Berkeley students who were attending the Boston Marathon on Monday have been "confirmed as safe" after two bombs were set off at near the finish line, killing three and injuring more than 100 people, The Daily Califronian reports.

Among those reported safe are UC Berkeley undergraduates Michelle Nacouzi, Nolan McPeek-Bechtold and Annika McPeek-Bechtold. Junior Catherine Hall, a spectator at the marathon, was also reported safe, according to The Daily Californian.

Some people like Anna Lieb, a UC Berkeley graduate student, and Shinji Nakadai, a computer science research fellow, confirmed their safety on Google People Finder, an online database allowing people check in once they hear from friends and family.

Douglas Letterman, Cecillia Su, Laurel Collins and Carl Kempf were also listed as safe on the database, The Daily Californian reports.
