What Should Live Here?

Close to the campus, this storefront could get plenty of foot traffic -- if only there was something inside.

Near the end of University Avenue, with a cafe and a print shop for neighbors, this downtown storefront has been vacant for quite a while. What would you like to see here?

Old fashioned 5 & 10! Hardware, gifts, toys, kitchen goods, cards, T-shirts, knick knacks.

To begin with, UC should have revitalized their existing buildings on that strip rather than continue to turn "UC" into an acronym for "Under Construction." I just walked by a building on Oxford at University that is on the verge of "blighted." That said, what might be lovely there is a (cooperatively run, of course) GLBT bar/night spot since we have a significant GLBT population, but no nightspot catering to this particular demographic.
