Students, Parents Urged to Access Handbook Online – Help District Cut Costs

The Berkeley Unified School District is asking school families to access the Parent-Student Handbook online, including forms that should be completed, in order to reduce the district's paper and mailing costs.

To help the Berkeley Unified School District save money, school families are urged to access the Parent-Student Handbook online.

"In an effort to make our parent-student handbook available online and to cut down on the cost of printing and mailing, families who have internet access are asked to access the handbook online and complete the required forms," says a notice in the latest edition of the district's newsletter, "A+ News."

The district website says the handbook is being made available electronically beginning today, Aug. 27, and that those with an email on file with the district should have received an email today to download the handbook as a PDF file.

Those who do not receive an email this week can access an online district form to request electronic access, according to the district.

Those families who have not viewed and submitted the online forms by September 13 will be sent a paper copy in the mail, the district said.

"Please help us save paper and mailing costs by going online today!" the district newsletter says.

Wednesday, Aug. 28, is the first regular day of school.
