Andy Z (the alter ego of Andreas Zamenes) didn't set out to be a children's music artist living in his own world. A local singer-songwriter, he picked up a music degree from San Francisco State University, played in bands, put out his on solo CD, and worked in the computer industry. When he filled in for a teacher at a preschool, he found his calling as parents and kids were captivated by his easy-going, fun, and infectious music style.

When a Silicon Valley downturn forced him out of the tech industry, Andy saw it as a sign to devote his time to his passion, combining music with his love of storytelling, character voices, and performance. Thus, 'Andy Z' was born. Now, several award-winning CDs, the "Sing and Dance with Andy Z" DVD, appearances on television including "The Today Show," and a world (Andyland) later, Andy Z comes to Ashkenaz.
