Rhonda Benin Old School Music and Dance

Do you remember dancing to the Twist, the Mashed Potato, the Pony or the Hustle? Whether you're ready to reminisce or learn some new old-school dance moves, come Twist and Shout while we take it back to the day with hit dance tunes of the '60s and '70s and dance instructors too!

Vocal powerhouse and performer extraordinaire Rhonda Benin will get you off your seat and moving on the dance floor. When not belting out tunes from that magical dance era, Rhonda sings jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, big band, pop and African-American folk . Her remarkable career began in the late '80s with a weekend gig with folk-blues maven Maria Muldaur. Soon after, she teamed up with Linda Tillery and The Cultural Heritage Choir (CHC). Her work with the CHC has taken her around the world and led her to perform and record with legendary artists Taj Mahal, Wilson Pickett, Richie Havens, Al Green, Jackson Brown, Hugh Masekela, and Sweet Honey In The Rock.

With a voice like "caramel sweetened with honey," Rhonda enhances the evening with her magnetic stage personality, humor, and, of course, great dancing. Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes and all your ole skool moves.
