Old-Time Music for Kids and Families at the Main Library

This free concert in the Community Meeting Room (3rd floor) of the library is by Roots Revue is a tour through American traditional music and dance, with fun participation for all ages.  From English clog dancing through Southern Appalachian step dancing, stringband music, harmony singing and hambone body percussion, to the swinging rhythms of Jazz and Tap dance, Roots Revue provides comprehensive history on the unique traditions in American music, dance, and instrumentation with striking chemistry, playfulness, and humor.  Roots Revue is Allegra Yellin - guitar, banjo, saxophone, Ray Bierl - fiddle, guitar, and Evie Ladin - banjo, dance.

The concert is part of the Berkeley Old Time Music Convention, Sept. 14-18. Check the website for other events.
