Artist Application Deadline for '60 Boxes' Project

A joint project of the mayor's office and the Earth Island Institute, the 60 Boxes Project seeks youth and adult artists to decorate 60 downtown utility boxes that are now a drab gray. Designs should reflect the theme of "sustainability." There are separate application tracks for adult and youth artists. Adults should submit a digital portfolio of three to seven examples of completed works with a CV and artist statement. Under-18s can find an application and instructions at http://www.cityofberkeley.info/uploadedFiles/City_Manager/Level_3_-_Civi....  Young artists whose work is selected will receive a $200 stipend. In either case, deliver the material by snail mail, email or in person by July 22 to Ariana Katovich, Earth Island Institute, 2150 Allston Way, Suite 460, Berkeley, CA 94704.
