Who IS "Mr. Jones"? The namesake of the iconic Counting Crows song comes from the Bay Area, just like the group's lead singer Adam Duritz, who revealed Jones' identity in a video interview Thursday on Huffington Post. He's Marty Jones, son of flamenco guitarist David Serva and an old friend of Duritz.

Duritz — who grew up in Berkeley, graduated from Oakland's Head-Royce School and attended UC Berkeley — also named his favorite performance venue,  Berkeley's Greek Theatre, and talked about his bouts of depression during the interview.

The interview came just a week before Counting Crows embarks on a summer tour with The Wallflowers. They will make two Bay Area appearances, at Wente Vineyard in Livermore on July 17 and at the America's Cup Pavilion in San Francisco on July 18.
