Super Bowl dreams captured the attention of many folks in the last weeks — not the least of whom was Walnut Creeker Terry White. He heads to his sixth Niners Super Bowl because the football team's CEO, Jed York, was touched by the story of White's fervent fandom.

It was among the most-read stories of the week on Walnut Creek Patch, which also included the tale of an Oakland woman who posed as a doctor to gain entry to employee areas of Bay Area hospitals and allegedly steal credit cards.

The family of Anthony Banta, Jr. has filed a $15 million lawsuit against the four Walnut Creek police officers who shot the 22-year-old man to death on Dec. 27. Banta was threatening officers with a 10-inch knife, police said.
