Tilden Park Quake Rattles East Bay

Did you feel it? An earthquake with tentative magnitude of 3.0 centered in Tilden Park northeast of the UC Berkeley campus struck at 9:26 p.m. tonight, Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tentative 3.0-magnitude earthquake centered in Tilden Park near Berkeley jolted the East Bay at 9:26 p.m. tonight, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the temblor was located along the Hayward Fault at a depth of 7 kilometers in the western part of the park, 1.5 miles northeast of the UC Berkeley main campus, according to latitude and longitude coordinates provided by the USGS.
