'Pop-up' Holiday Singing on Solano Ave. Friday

A chance to share holiday cheer comes to Solano Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a city-sponsored "pop-up" event called "Songs on Solano," where passers-by can join in holiday singing (and have some hot chocolate).

If you'd like to spread some seasonal cheer by singing holiday songs with others on Solano Avenue, you'll have the chance on Friday.

There'll be a "Songs on Solano" opportunity with a keyboard player starting at 6:30 p.m. at Solano and Stannage Avenue. There will also be hot chocolate.

It's "a bit of a 'pop-up' event," said Nicole Almaguer, City Clerk for the City of Albany, which is sponsoring it.

"Local choruses have been invited, and the event is intended to bring in passersby to join in when they see the group and help spread cheer," Almaguer said.
