Pet of the Week: Cori

Cori – who loves to cuddle and get brushed – seeks a home. She was abandoned with her two babies at the Albany Bowl and is now at the Berkeley Animal Shelter. The $100 adoption fee has been taken care of by a generous donor.

Cori is a beautiful brown/beige tabby cat with white chest and paws who is seeking a safe, loving home.

She was abandoned with her two babies at the Albany Bowl and was brought to the Berkeley Animal Shelter on June 8.

Cori immediately cuddles up to visitors and purrs and she loves a good brushing of her coat. At one and a half years of age, she would thrive at a home with older children. She's mild-mannered and calm but can go wild when you play with her with a feather toy.

Cori also can tolerate other pets. She is not yet spayed but the $100 adoption fee has been paid for by a generous donor.

The Berkeley Animal Shelter houses stray or abandoned domestic animals from Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, and Piedmont and provides adoption services to find them a new home. Anyone can adopt a pet. Here's how!

1. Bring a valid form of identification
2. Bring proof that your home can house a pet (either a lease agreement allowing pets or proof of home ownership)
3. Bring the application fee ($125 for dogs, $100 for cats, $25 for rabbits, birds and exotics, and $10 for rodents)
4. Fill out an application at the shelter!

The Animal Shelter at the City of Berkeley is located on 1 Bolivar Drive and is open seven days a week (Mon-Sat: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wed: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sun: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
