Only In Berkeley: The North Branch Library Gets A Face Lift

Construction continues on the North Branch Library restoration project.

Progress is slow and steady on the renovation of the North Branch Library. The construction project, which began in April of this year, is part of the Berkeley Public Library's Improvement Program, funded by the passage of Measure FF in 2008, which allocated $26 million dollars to improve Berkeley's four branch libraries.

I don't see much coverage in Berkeley Patch about Berkeley Public Library's branch renovations, (among other local news)except for when the North branch had their grand re-opening event; the coverage could be better and more thorough. For instance, one thing I noticed is that there hasn't been much media coverage about the South branch demolition and the planned West branch demolition. To me, that would be news, since West and South branches have been part of Berkeley for several decades, in addition to the fact that the demolitions are a HUGE deal.

The name is weirdly spelled, but not this weird. It's Caffe, not Caffee. I've only typed these wordsRead More a thousand times.
