Celebrating Changing Seasons, Art at Autumn Lights Festival

Raises money for The Gardens in downtown Oakland

Guests walked along dark paths illuminated by paper lanterns as someone played the flute in the distance.

Elsewhere lighted glass flowers bloomed amidst the night sky, protruding their red and purple orbs in all directions.

On Friday and Saturday, the Gardens at Lake Merritt were transformed into a land of whimsy and magic during the second annual Autumn Lights Festival, a fundraiser for the park.

Attendees listened to musicians, checked out art, including many sculpture pieces, and explored the hidden pockets of the park named one of California's Top 5 Best Gardens by VIA magazine. Funds raised from the event will go toward park improvements.
