Theater and Music Apprciation Classes for Adults
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: THEATER AND MUSIC CLASSES FOR ADULTS THIS FALL

The popular adult education Theater Explorations and Music Appreciation classes will resume this fall at the Northbrae Community Church. Students in Theater Explorations will see AFTER THE REVOLUTION at the Aurora Theater as well as other plays at Berkeley Rep Theater and Ashby Stage, all at discounted ticket prices. Guest speakers, including directors and actors, enrich the class experience.

Students in Music Appreciation will meet composers, conductors, and musicians from the Berkeley and SF Symphonies, and other professionals, who will discuss their work and perform. Also included are field trips to classical music events. A background in music is not needed for this class.

THEATER CLASS FOR ADULTS
Join the popular THEATER EXPLORATIONS class and attend plays at Berkeley Rep, Aurora, ACT, and other local theaters with discounted group tickets.
Participate in post-performance discussions. Guest speakers from the theaters enrich the experience.
Select one of two Sections: Monday 1-3 pm OR Thursday 1-3 pm. Classes start the week of September 9 and meet at the Northbrae Community Church in Berkeley.
Ten classes and four plays, including AFTER THE REVOLUTION at the Aurora Theater, Broadway hit VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE at Berkeley Rep, a trip to SF Playhouse—and more.
Guest Speakers include actor Gabe Marin, actor James Carpenter, and superb Docents from Berkeley Rep Theater.
Please bring $28 and a plain envelope to first class meeting if attending AFTER THE REVOLUTION by Amy Herzog on September 14, at 7 pm at the Aurora Theater

MUSIC APPRECIATION CLASS FOR ADULTS
Join the popular MUSIC APPRECIATION class and meet composers, conductors, and musicians from the Berkeley, Oakland, and SF Symphonies as well as other music professionals who will discuss their work and perform in the class.
Attend classical music events in the Bay Area and participate in post-performance discussions.
BACKGROUND IN MUSIC IS NOT NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS.
Guests for the
Fall Term include conductor Ben Simon, mezzo soprano Alexis Lane Jensen, and composer Gary Friedman who will present a new piece for wind quintet and narrator in class.
This ten-week class meets on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at the Northbrae Community Church in Berkeley. The class begins on September 12, 2013
