Call for Artists


The Expressions Gallery, in Berkeley, with the City of Berkeley as co-sponsor, is pleased to announce a Call for Artists to participate in a show on Homelessness. The show will be at the Expressions Gallery, for two and a half months, starting at the end of January, 2014. There is a possibility that it will also be at the Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center as a special presentation between their yearly exhibitions.  Rinna Flohr and Marcia Poole are the curators.

All media and styles: photography, mixed media, digital prints, oil, water color, pastel, etc. on paper or canvas, and sculpture are accepted.  The maximum size of framed or stretched work is 50" in any direction.  Please contact the gallery about maximum sculpture size.

The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2013.

Artists are requested to e-mail jpegs of their work in rgb color mode at 72ppi, no larger than 1200 pixels in either direction.  Please include in your e-mail your name, phone #, e-mail address, the title, medium, and dimensions of the work framed or stretched, (height by width, and depth for sculpture. The is no application fee for submission.

Please e-mail all submissions to expressionsgallery@msn.com and put "Submissions for the Homeless Show" in the e-mail subject line. We will notify you that your submissions have been received and will contact you on October 14, 2013 to let you know if your work has been selected for exhibition.  All selected work must be delivered ready to install by mid-January, 2014. Delivery date will be finalized in January.
