A project funded by the Berkeley Public Education Foundation, BPEF School Volunteers exists to encourage, educate, place and support community volunteers in classrooms, after-school programs, and various projects in Berkeley Unified School District. We handle the process so our volunteers and teachers can focus on what's most important: providing equitable, quality public education for all youth.
We are currently looking for volunteers for the 2011-2012 school year to assist teachers who have requested additional help. We have opportunities to help in any grade level and subject — with a special emphasis on Literacy and Math.
