Share your lunch this summer: volunteers needed!

Help bridge the summer meal gap for kids in our community -- volunteer this summer!

Thousands of children in our neighborhoods rely on free lunch at school for their healthiest, most reliable -- and sometimes only -- meal of the day.

When the last school bell rings before summer break, those meals will disappear.

The Alameda County Community Food Bank is here to help -- but we need your support!

We are excited to announce the second year of our partnership with the City of Oakland and Oakland Public Libraries, offering the Free Summer Lunch Program at 11 library branches!

The need is great, so we've set an audacious goal: to recruit volunteers for 800 shifts to serve 15,000 meals this summer.

Shifts are from 11:30am and 1:30, Tuesday through Friday, from June 18th - August 17th. You can volunteer for as few as four shifts.

Please contact summerlunchvolunteering@gmail.com or call (510) 635-3663 ext. 307 for more information. Or, register for a mandatory orientation online today.

With your help, we will make sure no child in Oakland goes hungry this summer.
