Are you adequately prepared for The Big One? Or any other disaster? Join Transition Berkeley and the Berkeley Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Network, aka "The Network", for a timely and important presentation about Disaster Preparedness and how to prepare your individual household and neighborhood during the first week or so after an earthquake, large fire, or other widespread event. The Network co-founder Norine Smith will provide basic information including: family disaster plans, supplies needed and how to accumulate them, household evacuation plans; and what to expect from disaster agencies in the immediate aftermath and in the recovery process. A brief overview of what the Network offers/will be offering will be provided, along with handouts that detailed information on specific topics. Other guests will also share their experiences of how to organize your neighborhood in the event of a disaster.
